Choosing the Right Shoe for You

Foot Types       Running and Your Feet       Choosing the Right Shoe for You

  • First things first, do NOT buy a pair of shoes solely based on the newest style or colour. You may look great running down the street, however, your feet will quickly let you know something is wrong.

  • Always wear your workout socks to the shoe store.

  • It is best to shop in the evening when your feet have swollen to their largest size.

  • Always get both feet measured and buy for the larger foot.

  • Always try several different brands of shoes. Each manufacturer uses different "lasts," the foot form or shape on which a shoe is built.

  • Always be fitted with the correct width. Most good athletic shoe manufactures offer wide range of widths

  • Always make sure your toes are not crunched, your heel is stable and does not slip

When you have found a pair of shoes you believe are best fitted for you, take the time to walk around the store to determine how the feel. You are the best judge if they are fitting correctly or not.
